Celebrating Diversity in All Its Forms

Celebrating Diversity in All Its Forms

Honoring Juneteenth & Pride in the World of Beauty

In nature, something that cannot be denied is the beauty of diversity. Our planet is home to an incredible blend of life, from the vibrant fungi hiding beneath forest floors to the unexpected blooms that crack through concrete, each life form contributes to the richness of our world in its own way.

The beauty of diversity doesn’t stop there…it lives and breathes through us. Through our cultures, our identities, our stories, and our communities. And this June, we’re taking a moment to honor the beauty of that diversity.

From Juneteenth, to Pride Month, to Father’s Day, June is a time to reflect, uplift, and celebrate. It’s a time to recognize the voices, talents, and histories that have helped shape not only our world, but the beauty industry we’re all a part of.

What Are Juneteenth and Pride?

We believe understanding the meaning behind Juneteenth and Pride helps us all appreciate their significance, not just in June, but year-round. These moments are more than dates on the calendar; they are reminders of resilience, liberation, and the ongoing pursuit of equity.

June offers us the opportunity to reflect on two deeply meaningful moments in our collective history: Juneteenth and Pride. These are not just commemorations, but powerful reminders of the long and ongoing struggles for freedom, visibility, and equality.

Juneteenth, observed on June 19th, honors the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom, over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed. It is a moment that speaks to both the resilience of Black communities and the long shadow of delayed justice. Juneteenth is a day of remembrance, celebration, and continued commitment to racial equity.

As we hold space for that history, we also step into Pride Month, a time to honor the LGBTQ+ community and its ongoing pursuit of safety, dignity, and the freedom to live fully and openly. Pride traces its roots to the Stonewall Uprising of 1969, a response to years of marginalization and mistreatment. What began as protest has grown into a vibrant celebration of identity, community, and hard-won progress.

Both Juneteenth and Pride call us to remember, to honor, and to act with empathy, curiosity, and a willingness to keep learning. They remind us that freedom, in all its forms, must be nurtured, protected, and extended to everyone.

Celebrating the Present: The Power of Representation in Beauty

Today, we’re grateful to live in a world that continues to be enriched by the diversity, creativity, and cultural depth brought forth by Black and LGBTQ+ communities. These voices have shaped not only history, but the present, and nowhere is that more visible than in the beauty industry.

The landscape of beauty has undergone a powerful transformation. What was once a narrow and exclusionary space is evolving into something far more expansive, inclusive, and honest. Everyone deserves to feel seen, to feel a sense of belonging. That sense of belonging is no longer the exception, it’s becoming the expectation.

This progress is thanks in large part to BIPOC and queer leaders who have shown up as their full, unapologetic selves, challenging norms, expanding definitions, and taking up space that once wasn’t offered to them. Their courage and creativity have laid the groundwork for a more inclusive and inspiring industry.

Isaac Samaripa, a licensed esthetician based in Palmer, Texas, shared this powerful perspective when asked why it’s important to hold space for all identities and gender expressions in esthetics:

“Beauty has often been viewed as something narrow, mainly associated with women. But I believe beauty is so much more than that. It’s a feeling, an expression, and a reflection of who we are as individuals. Beauty isn’t limited by gender—it’s a universal experience that transcends societal norms and expectations. I want my space to reflect that truth, where everyone, regardless of identity or gender expression, can come in and feel safe to explore their own version of beauty. Beauty is for men, women, nonbinary individuals—beauty is for anyone and everyone, and it’s about embracing that diversity.”

This kind of perspective is what propels the industry forward, not only through trends, but through the values we choose to embody every day.

Rooted in Care, Growing in Community

Just as nature flourishes through diversity, with every plant, element, and ecosystem contributing to a balanced whole, the beauty industry thrives when every voice is heard, nurtured, and celebrated. At Herbal Skin Solutions x The Esthetics Academy, we are committed to creating a space that mirrors the richness of the natural world: vibrant, inclusive, and deeply interconnected.

Our mission goes beyond skin care. At the root of everything we do is an intention to care for the planet, and for the people who inhabit it. We believe that sustainability isn’t only about the environment; it’s also about cultivating a beauty culture that uplifts, empowers, and embraces all identities and expressions.

We’re proud that our product line is all-inclusive, thoughtfully formulated to ensure that everyone, every body, feels seen, supported, and celebrated. Beauty does not belong to one group, it belongs to everyone.

And to our community, thank you for supporting our mission, for believing in what’s possible, and for being part of something bigger. We’re honored to walk this path with you.
